The Issue

The topic that i am researching is the effects of video replay in sports. What does it do for the sport? What does it take away? The use of video replay in sports has many different effects on sports. Many people believe that it takes away from the human error that is part of the game, but other people think that it is inevitable for sports to become predominantly refereed by video replay. Many sports such as football have utilized video footage to help make calls, but other sports, like baseball have only recently began to have limited use of video replay for controversial calls. These sports may possibly expand using video to the point in which referees and umpires become almost useless.

  1. You have an interesting topic. I remember alot of debate on ESPN when they decided to institute the video replay in baseball last season. Like you said there are many people against it because they want to keep the sport traditional but it seems even more people are for video replay. There are definitely two legitimate sides you could take and you should have a good essay.
